The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) is reimagining its Concession offerings in a new Concession Master Plan. The plan was created to address the discrepancies between the concession offerings in the new Terminal C and in the original Terminals, A & B.
In the plan, GOAA has taken a holistic approach to curate a program that includes a wide variety of shopping and dining experiences. Healthier food options will be offered, as well as a selection of local, regional, and national brands, offering a curated dining experience that uniquely reflects the Orlando area.
Additionally, the plan determines to re-purpose some retail areas into spaces where passengers can play games or enjoy museum exhibits, for example, which will increase passenger engagement and will also give the passenger a sense of place (they will know they’ve arrived in Orlando).
The new Concession Master Plan fulfills both the Strategic Mission to “seamlessly connect Florida and the world through exceptional experiences, collaboration, and creativity” and the Connection Strategic Priority, in particular, the goal to “Become the world’s hub for the integration of transportation, commerce, and entertainment.” The plan encourages small business participation, fostering economic prosperity in the region.
FACTS: The Concession Master Plan will:
- Update the concession concepts and designs to meet the wants and needs of airport customers.
- Repurpose some retail areas into spaces where passengers can play games or enjoy museum exhibits.
- Capitalize on existing infrastructure.
- Assemble smaller units to create opportunities for larger, more impactful concepts with targeted adjacencies.
- Re-concept spaces to increase output to meet passenger needs and identify opportunities to expand and upgrade, as needed.
